Governance
Legitimacy and Independence
A project designed to outlast governments and corporations must be governed with extraordinary care. The Tesseract is overseen by the DARI Foundation, an independent entity with a mandate that extends beyond any individual, company, or nation.
The DARI Foundation
The DARI Foundation is the custodian of the Tesseract and all Memocubes within it. Established as an independent foundation, DARI is legally structured to ensure that no individual, corporation, or government can alter its core mission: the permanent preservation of human memory. The Foundation’s charter includes perpetuity clauses that protect the Tesseract and its contents from sale, seizure, or repurposing, regardless of changes in leadership, funding, or political circumstances. This is not a promise. It is a legally binding commitment.
Transparent Governance
The Foundation is governed by a board of directors drawn from diverse fields including law, science, cultural preservation, and human rights. Board members serve staggered terms to ensure continuity and are selected through a process designed to prevent concentration of influence. The Foundation publishes annual reports detailing its financial position, operational activities, and progress toward long-term preservation goals. All governance documents, including the Foundation charter, board meeting minutes, and financial audits, are made available to patrons and the public.
Financial Independence
The Tesseract’s long-term operation is funded through a combination of Memocube patron contributions and an endowment fund designed to grow over time. The financial model is structured to ensure that the Tesseract can be maintained in perpetuity, even if no new patrons ever join. This is a critical design principle: the preservation of existing Memocubes must never depend on the sale of future ones. Independent auditors verify the Foundation’s financial health annually, and the endowment is managed by a fiduciary committee with explicit long-term mandates.
Beyond Borders
The Tesseract is deliberately positioned to transcend national boundaries. Its legal structure, physical location, and operational partnerships are designed to ensure resilience against political instability in any single jurisdiction. The DARI Foundation maintains legal presence in multiple countries and has established reciprocal agreements with international cultural preservation organizations to provide additional layers of protection.
